SUCH A FAMOUS HISTORICAL CAR---IT IS HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THIS CAR HAS NEVER BEEN PRODUCED BY A MAJOR DIECAST COMPANY.  THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN GET THIS CAR IS TO BUY A CUSTOM BUILT ONE---AND THIS ONE IS A DROP DEAD GORGEOUS!!  YOU CAN NOT GO WRONG HERE!!  THIS IS THE CAR THAT COULD BE THE CENTER PIECE, MOST TALKED ABOUT CAR IN YOUR COLLECTION!!  THIS IS A REAL BEAUTY!

IN FEBRUARY OF 1979 THE EAST COAST WAS SNOWED IN AND EVERYONE WAS TUNED IN TO THEIR TV SETS AND SAW THE LAST LAP CRASH AND THE ALLISON BROTHERS AND CALE SLUGGING IT OUT AFTER THE BIG CRASH THAT TOOK BOTH CARS OUT ON THE LAST LAP OF THE RACE!!  IT TURNED ON A WHOLE NATION THAT STARTED FOLLOWING THE NASCAR RACES.   IF YOU HAVE THE HAWAIIAN TROPIC CAR THIS IS A MUST HAVE COLLECTIBLE.
THIS ALSO MARKED A FIRST FOR OLDSMOBILES AS THEY FINISHED 1-2-3-4-5.  YOU HAD RICHARD PETTY 1ST, DARRELL WALTRIP 2ND, AJ FOYT 3RD, AND THE OLDSMOBILES OF CALE AND DONNIE FINISHING 4TH & 5TH.
This is a beautiful custom built 1/24 scale car.  It started out as a FRANKLIN MINT Hood open Oldsmobile.  FRANKLIN MINT is known for their quality and the attention they pay to detail. This was part of the RICHARD PETTY NASCAR series collection made for THE FRANKLIN MINT. The body is die-cast that has been completely stripped, repainted, decals added, and clear coated.  I KNOW that any  Cale Fan, Junior Johnson fan, Oldsmobile fan, or NASCAR HISTORY BUFF would be thrilled with this car to add to their collection.  IT BELONGS IN ANYONE'S COLLECTION THAT LIKES BEAUTIFUL HISTORIC CARS.
The car does have an opening hood.
